This kit includes all the mounting hardware and trim required to install an BMW 'S' Fairing onto an Airhead twin.

Choose your model range: 1974-'84 (twin-shock models), or 1985-'95 "monolever" models. NOTE: All must have 7½ inch headlight for proper fit. (not /5, '78-84 R65, or any GS or ST models)

The iconic S "Café" Fairing was original equipment on the R90S, R100S, and R100CS. Ever since the R90S arrived in 1974, owners of non-S models have wanted to convert their bikes to have the distinctive sporting look that this fairing instantly bestows to a BMW.

This kit makes that conversion easier. Everything you need is in one package, plus it comes with a clear diagram and instructions that show just how everything goes together.

All components in the kit are genuine BMW parts - EXCEPT the nuts, bolts, and washers used for assembly, which are supplied by Würth of Germany. Additionally, the black nylon fasteners for the windshield are aftermarket - and a better choice for ease of assembly than the plastic rivets prescribed by BMW.

This kit does NOT include the fairing itself or the windshield. Also, it does not include the clock & voltmeter, which are no longer available from BMW. It DOES contain two covering plates that snap into the holes in the dashboard where the clock & voltmeter were meant to go.

The BMW S Fairing in primer (#46 63 1 233 732 - includes dashboard) and the windshield (#46 63 1 235 499 - or any of several aftermarket alternatives) are SOLD SEPARATELY. Please see recommended products.

NOTE: the kit for '85 and later models costs about $90 more than the '74-'84 kit. Inquiring minds would certainly want to know WHY! There are only two parts that are different between the two kits: the shackles that sit at the top of each fork leg. BMW has seen fit to drastically raise the price of this part. We have no idea the reason. The difference between the earlier shackle and the later one is only a couple millimeters in diameter of the holes for the fork top nuts. SO... owners of Monolever bikes, if you have a grinder or a good set of files and some thrift-inspired initiative, buy the kit for 1974-'84 and get busy.
