ABOUT BOB'S PROJECT BIKES

Every year, Bob's Motorcycles gets the opportunity to buy or take a trade-in on a number of bikes that need more service work than the average trade-in before they can be resold. While each bike is different and will come with its own unique challenges and opportunities, they all have one thing in common, fun! Once all of the work is completed, these machines will make dependable, fun, safe and roadworthy rides; otherwise we would simply part them out, like we once did when Bob's Motorcycles was Bob's Used Parts. These bikes are the ones Bob's Motorcycles refers to as PROJECT BIKES.

Some PROJECT BIKES arrive at our doorstep and others Bob finds when he's hunting and gathering! Some bikes need extensive mechanical repairs and/or above average cosmetic attention. And then there are those that simply need a few weekends or evenings of TLC, sweat equity, an assortment of reasonably priced parts, and a minimum of actual technical expertise.

We always provide as much information as possible so every buyer can make an informed decision. Plus when you purchase your project from Bob's, you get a discount on any and all parts purchased from Bob's that are needed to service, maintenance, refurbish, or restore the machine. Your sales rep will provide you complete details on this special offer at time of purchase.

Most PROJECT BIKES get trailered home and show back up a few weeks or several months later at Bob's to be run through the Maryland State Inspection. Others are left at Bob's for one of our BMW Certified Master Technicians to do their magic and tackle the larger issues. Our BMW Certified Master Technicians are dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of BMW motorcycles and have the expertise and desire, as well as the critically important special tools required to work on your PROJECT BIKE whether it needs a tune up, a minor repair, a medium overhaul, a simple refurbishing or even a complete restoration to like-new condition.

No matter how you decide to complete your project, we can assure you we make the purchasing process as secure as possible considering one is basically making a flea market purchase. Bob's Motorcycles intentionally, willingly and gladly shares all information we can gather from prior owners and from our own detailed, in-depth inspection to make the descriptions as accurate as possible. Keep in mind it is impossible to know every detail about a PROJECT BIKE especially when some don't even start up and run which is why they are sold as is, and without a warranty or guarantee of any kind. All of this is clearly stated on the Bill of Sale.

You may also perform your own inspection here (short of disassembling a bike) prior to making a selection and completing a purchase. If you ask us a question you will receive the best answer we are able to offer from the information we have and our personal knowledge and experience in this business. Our collective years of knowledge and experience is now measured by centuries.

Typically, these bikes are not stored at the main dealership location. They are stored in Bob's other warehouse so an appointment is required in advance to schedule. Saturday is usually NOT a day this can be arranged but it is not out of the question.

Please note, online inventory is only a partial inventory. If you are searching for something in particular, please call us to discuss your wants and needs.
