IMPORTANT NOTE for owners of K1200GT: This wrench is correct for the oil filter currently prescribed for K1200GT (part #11 42 7 721 779). But BMW changed the oil filter specification some months after this model's initial release. Early K1200GTs (2006) were equipped with a different oil filter (part #11 42 7 673 541). In the years since then, some technicians working on these bikes may have simply replaced the filter with the same one that was originally on it rather than the updated application. If you are now changing your own oil it is important to know which filter is on your bike because the two filters do not use the same wrench! The wrench that fits the earlier type oil filter is part #OFWR2.
Please ALSO NOTE: the new correct oil filter is slightly taller than the originally fitted filter. Thus, changing it requires loosening the sidestand/shift lever bracket (three bolts - it's easy) to allow space to maneuver the filter and wrench for installation.
