Replacement Seat Cover, 1975-'76 /6 Models

This seat cover is exactly the same as the one originally fitted to the seat on...
1975 and 1976 R60/6, R75/6, & R90/6.

BMW does not now, nor have they ever offered replacement seat covers for models prior to 1985. We believe these covers, sourced in Germany, are from the same company that originally manufactured seats for BMW. The vinyl cover material has the same grain texture, seam welt, and embossed side-to-side rib pattern as the original did. The only difference is that most models in the mid-to-late 70s had a BMW roundel printed in white on the back of the cover, but the logo is not present with currently available covers. BMW does not permit use of the roundel on products they do not sell.

The cover on your /6 dual seat is held on by specially made small fasteners that also hold on the bottom trim molding. Because of how the seats were originally manufactured — protruding threads of the bolts on the inside are snipped off to remove potentially dangerous sharp edges — the fasteners must replaced when restoring the cover or trim (or at least the bolts and nuts). The /6 seat requires 22 of each of the following BMW parts:
•52 53 1 231 319 BOLT for seat cover & trim
•07 11 9 922 016 NUT for seat cover & trim
•07 11 9 931 015 WASHER for seat cover & trim
