This Exhaust Nut is the genuine BMW stock replacement for all 1977-'95 Airhead Twin models EXCEPT 1979-'84 R65.
When removing original exhaust nuts, it is not uncommon that the threads or the fins (or both) become damaged. Particularly in the case of thread damage, never re-install! We strongly recommend using a new part to replace a damaged one. And ALWAYS apply anti-seize lubricant on the threads when installing!
