K&N Air Filters are a great way to enhance performance. But they're also a great VALUE because you can clean and reuse your K&N filter rather than replacing a stock paper one each time.
But they DO need cleaning and re-oiling occasionally to work properly. Dirt and gunk will eventually accumulate on the filter to a point of hindering its optimal performance. K&N recommends cleaning and re-oiling the filter at least once every 50,000 miles.
