With this BMW R1200 GS Adventure PROJECT BIKE, you need your X-ray vision goggles to look beneath the road grunge and other little blemishes. Now you can see the fine motorcycle and excellent opportunity presented here. Many of our Project Bikes arrive at Bob’s on trailers or the back of pickup trucks, but not this one. This noble machine was proudly ridden to Bob’s by its previous owner. (He rode away on a ’21 R1250 GS Adventure just purchased from us, so obviously, this is a guy that likes Adventure bikes — and trusts Bob’s to deliver. We are offering it as a PROJECT BIKE primarily because of its well-worn cosmetic condition and its high-ish mileage. The bike’s engine is strong and most other components in good shape too. Yes, it does have some service needs, detailed below, but these things have solutions within your reach. You can learn more right now simply by calling 1-888-269-2627 to speak with one of our Certified Sales Advisors — Jim, Paul, George, or Todd. Call TODAY!

As with all PROJECT BIKES we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that each new owner feels they paid fairly and got good VALUE in the deal. We encourage you to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors, and inspect the machine in person to fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process. Please take a moment to learn more about Bob's Project Bike programHERE

BMW Adventure Bikes are factory outfitted with almost everything needed to conquer the planet, and this one’s no exception. But this one also has some notable EXTRA equipment:
• Globe Scout Adventure Side Cases and Top Case
• Sargent Rider’s Seat
• Cyclops LED Driving Light System
• XB701 GPS system
• Polycarbonate Headlight Lens Protector
• BMW Aluminum Valve Cover Protectors
• Expanded Sidestand foot

Here is what you need to know about this PROJECT BIKE’s service issues. Besides being due for a routine Inspection II Service (12K + Annual), the rear brake rotor and pads need to be replaced. Its main issue, however, is that the balance shaft seal is leaking and needs replacement. That job will require pulling the transmission (which, sensibly for a bike of this mileage, also involves checking and possibly replacing the clutch while you’re there). While these tasks are ones that a reasonably skilled home-mechanic could manage, the transmission/clutch work might be daunting to some. In any case, these are not terribly serious mechanical endeavors, and we’re here for you when you need us.

Cosmetically, this PROJECT BIKE has, well, an “Adventurous” look, which could also be described as, “Used as Intended.” In other words, this is a bike that’s been around some, and it shows — not only with the variety of stickers proclaiming destinations visited, clubs joined, and other clues to the previous owner’s way of life, but down to the road grime that was picked up along the way. We did give the bike a light wash, but you can see there are some signs of use that will require further elbow grease to reveal its best appearance. Of course, that’s only if you want a clean bike to ride. Plenty of riders would be happy to inherit the grunge (patina?) of rugged experience that’s evident here and ride it proudly as is. And there’s no shame in that. If, on the other hand, you want to spruce it up, the good news is that there’s very little actual damage anywhere. Its scratches and blemishes are, for the most part, superficial and easily improvable. This bike could look very nice after getting some TLC.

This R1200 GS Adventure has a lot of life left to offer, and the lucky, willing, and able buyer with a true sense of adventure who steps up first will find a big VALUE here. Are YOU that person? Then come to Bob’s and GET IT!
