The cosmetic condition of this PROJECT BIKE is decent. The bike, one of the venerable “Oil-head” models from the 90s, is obviously not pristine, but it has no serious issues. You will see some scratches on the tank, various places on the chassis where paint has chipped or faded, and a few instances of surface corrosion in the usual places. The bike was photographed still wet from the bath we gave it, yet it’s easy to see that you could spend some more time doing further deep cleaning and polishing to bring the bike’s appearance up to its highest potential. But that’s the good news: whatever cosmetic restoration the bike may need is almost all easily done.

Mechanically, the story is much the same. This PROJECT BIKE, while having no major concerns that we’re aware of, will nevertheless require the “routine” maintenance that wasn’t done in recent years. At the very least, plan on changing all fluids and filters, checking valve clearances, and making a host of adjustments to all its vital functions. The tires are no longer fresh and should be renewed sooner rather than later. These things are simple, though, and well within the skill set of most do-it-yourself home mechanics.
