The "straight" petcock (fuel tap) made by Karcoma, as originally used on 1974 - '78 airhead models is no longer available from BMW. It is called "straight" because the outlet of the petcock points straight downward; it is the same for the right side and left side of the tank. (The type currently available from BMW, also by Karcoma, points to the rear and is different right & left.)
This petcock is also the preferred replacement for /5 and /6 models. Please see recommended products for an modern production, period correct petcock for 1970-1974 models.
A gasket where the petcock attaches to the tank is included. An upper filter screen is NOT included as this petcock has a built-in filter before the outlet nipple. Just undo the coupling nut before the nipple and clean out periodically.
This petcock will also fit all BMW Airhead models 1970-1995. The models and years specified above only refer to when these fuel valves were originally installed.
