This Adapter Kit for the BMW R1200GS VARIO Top Case allows you to mount the top case in a FORWARD position instead of the normal position on the rear luggage rack.
For SOLO riders, this may have some advantages:
1. By positioning the top case over the rear seat, better weight distribution is achieved which can provide a noticeable handling improvement.
2. It frees up luggage rack space for other things such as a BMW Luggage Roll, SoftBag, or other duffel.
3. When equipped with a Vario Top Case Backrest (sold separately), the rider now has a more supportive and comfy riding posture.
Kit includes the mounting plate adapter, supplementary hardware, and all necessary fasteners.
Fits 2005-2012 R 1200 GS models only.
