The Yamaha MT-09, first unveiled in 2014, was popular with riders from the get-go. The model then got a major overhaul in 2021, and this '23 specimen boasts the benefits of those improvements. The SP version, which this is, carries even higher level enhancements. You're looking at a 890 cc CP3 inline Triple with a claimed output of 117 hp and 69 lb-ft of torque. You'll also appreciate further updated performance that comes with throttle-by-wire, a slip/assist clutch, and a quickshifter. There's more: a 6-axis IMU derived from the YZF-R1 that manages the bike’s traction control, slide control, and front-wheel lift control systems; and two levels of ABS intervention and four D-Mode engine maps that regulate engine response and output. All this on a bike that weighs only 417 lbs!
