2018 BMW R nineT Urban G/S Light White

Here is something very SPECIAL. The R nineT Urban G/S model was discontinued a few years ago, and it’s not easy to find a good used one on the market. That’s because these popular bikes, which were never abundant in the first place, were mostly bought up by serious enthusiasts and collectors, and those guys are hanging on to them! The Urban G/S was designed as a limited production tribute to the iconic R80G/S that came out in 1981, and it bears the same distinctive colors, trappings, and overall look as its famous namesake. But the similarities end there. The modern replica is arguably a much better all-round motorcycle, improved with 21st-century technology that makes it a more powerful, sophisticated, and better handling machine. And because it’s more suited to on-road riding than the original R80G/S which was a true dual-sport, it appeals to a much greater number of riders.

THIS Urban G/S has two other very notable features going for it. The first is that it’s almost completely stock – unaltered from its original purity. The few accessories that were added make sense for real-world riding and can easily be removed if desired. As you can see, this machine is in nearly immaculate condition. We say "nearly" because when you come to look at the bike in person and get up really close, say, a few inches away, you might notice a very minor heel scuff on the right-side driveshaft covering. Chances are, you won’t even see it, let alone care. And, of course, the exhaust pipes show the bronze-like patina caused by engine heat which is completely typical. Otherwise, there's not a thing cosmetically wrong with it. Mechanically, it’s the same story — this 1170cc, boxer twin runs as good as it looks. And amazingly, this eight-year-old machine, purchased new at Bob’s in August 2017, is still LIKE-NEW.
