Are Project Bikes for everyone? No. They are for riders who like to be more intimately involved with the maintenance of their bike, who are curious about mechanical things and don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty sometimes. Above all, Project Bikes are for riders who enjoy SAVING MONEY!

If you think you are that kind of person, but haven’t really tried this type of thing before, then this Project Bike is the perfect place to start. That’s because it needs so little to put you on the road to a summer of FUN!

The 2011 F800ST is a liquid-cooled, 798cc parallel twin, fuel injected, with 6-speed transmission and belt drive. This sporty, middleweight tourer has had only One Owner.

Here are the FACTORY OPTIONS this bike came with from Germany:
• BMW Sports Panniers (Lightweight, expandable, detachable)
• On Board Computer • ABS
• Center Stand • Control Operator Concept
• Heated Grips • TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring)
• White Turn Signal Lenses
Plus, it has these sensible Aftermarket Accessories:
• Sargent Seat
• Aeroflow tall touring windscreen, with angle adjustment
• Handlebar Setbacks • Carbon fiber-look tank-top panel
• LED Auxiliary Brake/Tail Light
• Rear Fender Extension/mudflap

This Project Bike RUNS. Everything works. It is already SO close to being the perfectly safe and reliable motorcycle you want it to be. And that means that, priced as it is, this bike is a tremendous VALUE!

Its mechanical needs are simple: New Tires and a full 12K Annual Service. That's a service that would encompass several steps, but all of them are routine procedures and can be performed by almost anyone with a few tools and modest mechanical aptitude. There is nothing unusual or particularly challenging about reviving this fine machine.

The cosmetic story is basically the same. We gave it a cursory washing, but as you can see in the photos, a more diligent deep cleaning and detailing would be required to bring back the bike’s best appearance. The overall condition is very respectable, though. It shows only the typical signs of a 60-thousand-mile life well lived: little scratches, dings, scuffs, some fading and a bit of surface corrosion here and there. Some deeper-than-usual scrapes on the saddlebags are the worst of it. There are no serious blemishes at all!

As with all PROJECT BIKES we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that each new owner feels they paid fairly and got good VALUE. We encourage you to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors, and inspect the machine in person to fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process.
